How do I get more information about ACCEL?

What's involved in the ACCEL admissions process?
It's simple. First, complete a FREE application and request official transcripts from each institution you previously attended. An ACCEL Admissions Representative will contact you once materials are received.
Will my credits transfer or are they too old?
Credits are never too old to transfer into ACCEL programs! If you attended an accredited college or university and successfully completed the course, there is no time limit on those credits.
Does ACCEL offer credits for life and work experience?
Yes! We call this "experiential learning," and it's an excellent way for you to integrate work you've done in the past with education you are about to receive through ACCEL.
Does ACCEL accept credits from local community colleges?
Yes, we have articulation agreements with all of the local community colleges, and we will transfer in up to 60 credits from any accredited, two-year college.
How many credit hours can be transferred in?
A total of 90 credits can be transferred from four-year colleges and universities and up to 60 credits from two-year institutitions. Your Academic Advisor will be happy to go over the details with you.
How much is this all going to cost?
Less than you might think! Enroll part-time in ACCEL and you receive a tuition discount that saves you more than $1,000 per course. Enroll full-time in ACCEL and you are eligible for academic scholarships. Click here for the cost per credit hour.
Are financial aid and scholarships available for nontraditional students like me?
It's easy to find out. If you're seeking financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This online application is your first step toward obtaining student aid for federal and state grants, institutional support, and scholarships. To complete the FAFSA you'll need the Title IV School Code for St. Ambrose: 001889. There's more information at the main SAU Financial Aid Office website.
Will I have an Academic Advisor while in school?
You'll have one before classes even begin! We believe academic advising is a key factor in your ultimate success. As a new student, you will be required to meet with your Academic Advisor prior to beginning courses. Take their advice: they know what they're talking about and they're looking out for your best interests. Advisors are available by appointment: call 563-333-6126.
What if I need assistance with a course?
We offer free tutoring for all ACCEL students. This is a key point of distinction in our program, and our students take advantage of it. Check the website for the Student Success Center to find out what services are available and how to make an appointment.
I'm not sure what I want to major in. What should I do?
It can be difficult – even for adults – to decide what we want to be when we grow up! ACCEL Academic Advisers can help you identify the program that's best for you. Services such as the Counseling Center and Student Success Center are also great resources to help you discover your smartest path forward.
Can I get help in planning my career goals?
Yes! The Career Center can help you with writing your resume and cover letter, developing your LinkedIN profile, planning your job search, mock interviews, and more.
