The Bachelor of Special Studies (BSS) provides working allied health professionals the opportunity to complete a bachelor's degree by adding liberal arts to their health care education. This degree program is designed to be a convenient alternative approach to completing a bachelor's degree in health care.

Our program allows you to finish your degree by creating a unique curriculum in liberal arts areas, including theology, social science, natural science, international studies, creative arts, and more. Our experienced staff will ensure you receive a well-rounded education in a discussion-driven, adult learning environment. Our creative teaching methods will enhance your learning in our program built specifically for you.

The ACCEL Program offers evening, weekend, and online classes to fit your busy schedule, and our allied health completion programs are right for you if seeking to broaden your knowledge in liberal arts while working. Finish your degree and expand your opportunities for career advancement with the well-balanced education in our BSS program.

Depending on the allied health degree being transferred, students may transfer up to 90 credits toward the BSS degree.

Graduation Requirements

> Complete a minimum of 30 credits at the 300/400 level.
> Complete two writing intensive (WI) courses with a grade of "C" or better, at the 300/400 level.
> Complete a minimum of 120 credits.
> The final 30 credits applied to the degree, or 45 of the last 60 credits, must be earned at St. Ambrose University to meet the residency requirement.
> Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale).
