RIA Admissions & Application

Employees of Rock Island Arsenal are welcome to take classes through Rock Island Arsenal University for completion of undergraduate certificates, bachelor business degrees, graduate certificates or master degrees. Occasionally throughout the year St. Ambrose will administer information sessions on the island covering each of these programs. To begin the admission process, it is important for students to receive approval from their direct supervisor before applying to St. Ambrose University. Below is a checklist to follow for application to a Rock Island University University program:

• Discuss funding approval with supervisor 
• Complete appropriate application and mark Rock Island University as your location choice. Please note that Rock Island University students will not be charged an application fee. 
  • Undergraduate certificate/degree application if a bachelor’s degree has not yet been earned
  • Graduate certificate/degree application if a bachelor’s degree has been earned 
• Request that official transcripts from post-secondary institutions be sent to: St. Ambrose University, 518 West Locust Street Davenport, Iowa 52803. Some previous coursework to consider include: 
  • Previously attended colleges or universities
  • Defense Acquisition University
  • DD214 or military coursework 
• Complete placement tests if required, before being admitted
