What does it mean to be "Ambrosian"? Our students, alumni, faculty and staff know well the answer to this question. Every day they are making their goals their realities, making St. Ambrose a great place to learn, live, teach, work and support.
Being Ambrosian starts with our mission. As a leading education resource in the Quad Cities since 1882, St. Ambrose has grown to be a dynamic and vibrant scholarly community. Our responsiveness to community and regional needs remains distinctive in higher education today. Our students’ appetite for lifelong learning continues to be stimulated by our committed faculty and staff, themselves passionate learners.
Yet, when you delve into what makes us Ambrosian, it's so much more than that. It's the key characteristics of our university cultures—individual responsibility, inclusiveness and accountability for one another, that endure in all who are touched by them, so that even after our students graduate, they remain Ambrosians for life.
That's why you'll find our website replete with compelling stories about Ambrosians—what people are doing here, where they've gone and how they're living out their dreams, and how they're making an impact.
So I wish to welcome you to St. Ambrose and invite you to learn more about our university community and what we have to offer, as you begin your own Ambrosian experience.
