Art Scholarships

Bookmark and Share

Scholarships are available for students who show exemplary talent in their artwork. If you have that type of creative passion, we want to talk to you about how studies at St. Ambrose can enrich your talent and help lead to several fulfilling career paths. An art scholarship that recognizes and rewards your special gifts can provide important financial help for your studies.

Get a Quick Review of Some of Your Artwork Samples

Would you like to share a few samples of your artwork with an Art faculty member to get some quick, early feedback about your portfolio before you start the formal scholarship submission process?

For a sample review, send us a few .jpg or .pdf files online through a quick, secure system: click here for the form to upload your artwork.

Ready to Apply for an Art Scholarship?

If you are ready to apply for an art scholarship, here is what you need to do:

    • Gather 10-12 samples of your work to create a portfolio. This is a great way to give us (and you) a sense of your artistic development. Not sure how to start? Click here to read some Guidelines for Creating an Art Portfolio. Art scholarships are contingent on your pursuit of a major in Art, and you must earn a minimum 3.0 GPA in coursework within the major.
    • Tell us a bit about yourself and your art background by completing our online Art Student Questionnaire

Submit Your Portfolio Online or In-person

Decide whether you want to share your portfolio with us online or during an on-campus appointment. You can schedule a portfolio review meeting with an SAU art faculty member.

Schedule your appointment by phone or email. Contact Terri Flynn, 563/333-6001 with questions or to schedule a portfolio review meeting.

    On-campus portfolio reviews:
    Saturday, October 24, 2015
    Monday, February 15, (President's Day), 2016
    Saturday, March 5, 2016
    Saturday, April 9, 2016

Digital submissions accepted on an ongoing basis. Preference given to those who submit before March 15.
