For years, the Occupational Therapy Department's faculty, students and alumni have provided community outreach, in effect making the community their extended assistive technology lab. Still, the program's leaders believed that even more of a hands-on experience could further benefit both their students and the community.
Thanks in large part to the generous support of the Jim O’Rourke family, Jim's Place became a reality in 2011.
The Occupational Therapy Department would like to thank the O'Rourke Family for their generous gift in recognition of Jim O’Rourke. That gift, paired with the long time support of St. Ambrose University and a grant from the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, has allowed Jim's Place to become a true center for assistive technology solutions and services.
Gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations are welcome to help maintain and grow the outreach provided by Jim’s Place and the assistive technology lab. Contributions may be tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.
If you wish to make, or discuss a gift, you can contact the College of Health and Human Services, 563/333-6409 or the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations, 563/333-6286.
