The Biology Department has a broad, flexible curriculum. Courses focusing on human biology introduce scientific principles to non-science majors. We also offer a minor in Biology, allowing students in other majors to develop an understanding of the process of science while gaining a biological knowledge base. Our concentration in Biomedical Science provides our majors with a strong background for medical training.
Future teachers can earn a teaching degree by majoring in Biology and Secondary Education.
Biology students in any program are eligible for election to Beta Beta Beta, the national honorary biology fraternity.
Prospective students thinking about majoring in Biology can learn more by contacting the Admissions Office. The Admissions Office can help you experience what it's like to be a student in our program by arranging a classroom visit, or a meeting to talk directly with a faculty member about studying Biology.
