With smaller class sizes and a faculty comprised of three professors, you will get the attention you deserve when seeking an academic and professional career. We give an emphasis on a practical, hands-on approach to social research and the application of sociological skills and knowledge.

Simply put, a degree in Sociology at St. Ambrose provides majors and minors with increasingly-necessary skills for living and leading in an interconnected global world.

Criminal Justice

Our faculty sets our program apart from any other university. Our faculty hold PhDs and also have worked in law enforcement.

Students will study with and learn from faculty who have worked in corrections and are currently working in corrections. Because of this experience, students receive a balanced mix of both theory and practical applications of crime control, treatment, and corrections.

And is it community connections you seek? Through close advising relationships, our faculty use their connections to employers in the area, allowing our students to pursue internship experiences and eventually find job placements.
