Clinical Education


The clinical education program consists of six clinical experiences integrated into the academic curriculum:

DPT 580 2-weeks in inpatient care1. Completed Year One, Winter
DPT 680 2-weeks in student's choice of practice area2. Completed Year Two, Fall 
DPT 780 2-weeks in student's choice of practice area. Completed Year Two, Spring
DPT 781 8-weeks in outpatient musculoskeletal3. Completed Year Three, Summer
DPT 782 8-weeks in neuromuscular. Completed Year Three, Fall
DPT 784 10-weeks in acute care. Completed Year Three, Fall

1 Inpatient includes acute care, skilled nursing facility, or inpatient neuro rehabilitation
2 Student choice examples include, but are not limited to: pediatrics, women's health, sports, lymphedema, wound care, etc.
3 The three final settings (outpatient, neuro, and acute care) can be completed in any order
