The Student Physical Therapy Organization (SPTO) facilitates ways for PT students to meet and enrich their relationships with classmates and professors through professional, social, fundraising and philanthropic activities.
SPTO's primary fund raising event is an annual volley ball tournament "Spike for the Health of It."
The 18th Annual Sand Volleyball Tournament was Saturday, April 18th, 2015. Junge Park, 301 West 35th Street, Davenport.
Come help support the St. Ambrose University Student Physical Therapy Organization (SPTO) by participating in the 18th annual "Spike for the Health of It" sand volleyball tournament. This tournament is the primary fundraising activity for our organization, and the money raised will be used to support various philanthropic activities in the surrounding communities and provide resources for Doctor of Physical Therapy students to attend professional meetings at state and national levels.
This event has grown over the past few years, and we are hoping for a record amount of participants this year. Each team that registers will be guaranteed a minimum of three games and day full of fun! Cost is $80/team; all team participants will receive a t-shirt, lunch, and have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes in a raffle. A grand prize will be awarded to the top team! Each team must have 2 females on the court at all times.
Every other year, SPTO members are involved with the All-Iowa Wheels for the World mobility equipment drive.
Members also participate in state, regional and national conferences related to the physical therapy profession. SPTO meets once a month.
