Top-Notch FacultyOur knowledgeable faculty and staff are dedicated to helping you become a top-notch PT. They make themselves available to students who need advice and assistance outside of the classroom. They keep current on the latest PT techniques and technology by staying active in clinical practice, community service, scholarship and professional activities.
There are no graduate teaching assistants in the program; only expert faculty members teach students. The faculty has earned 10 board certifications and fellowships. The program also hosts 60 guest lecturers every year, including physicians, nurse practitioners and occupational therapists.
Licensed since 1995, Dr. Baird joined St. Ambrose in Fall 2012 and teaches Physical Therapy Procedures and Kinesiology and Biomechanics.
Teaches human gross anatomy and functional anatomy as well as evidence-based practice.
Teaches in professional development, neuroscience and geriatrics-related courses.
Teaches research and issues surrounding the management of patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease.
Coordinates lectures in pathology and medical management, and assists in human gross anatomy and functional anatomy.
Chair of the post-professional programs, including both the transition DPT program and Orthopaedic Clinical Residency program.
Helps create individual student plans for clinical education, assists with neuromuscular therapeutics, and a board certified neurologic clinical specialist.
Assists students with individualized clinical education plans and manages contracts with clinical sites.
Teaches PT procedures, physical agents, patient care issues and the integument course.
Teaches Musculoskeletal Therapeutics I and II and Orthotics and Prosthetics.
Teaches cardiopulmonary therapeutics, clinical exercise physiology, PT procedures, and topics in geriatrics.
