The St. Ambrose University Teacher Education program is the first in the state of Iowa to earn national accreditation from the Teacher Education Accreditation Council.

St. Ambrose University's Teacher Education Program, which is designed to produce caring, qualified and competent teachers, is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council for a period of five years from 2007-2012. An extension to this accreditation was given by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, so the accreditation period is now from 2007-2013.This accreditation certifies that the St. Ambrose professional education program has provided evidence that it adheres to TEAC's quality principles.
