Opportunities abound for exercising your English muscles. Here's a few to consider:

  • Hands-on experience obtained by working as a writing tutor in the Student Success Center;
  • serving on a student advisory board for Quercus or Mazy Mind;
  • writing for our student newspaper, The Buzz;
  • participating in local or national  internships;
  • or taking your skills abroad as a Fulbright Scholar.

Faculty offer multiple Study Abroad opportunities in the summer, winterim, and spring break sessions. Past trips have included Wordsworth in the Lake District, Literature of Hinduism in India, Theatre in London, and Travel Writing in Ecuador.

Join English Pros(e) – a club for major, minors and lovers of English – and participate in numerous events: meet and greets and potlucks with local and visiting authors, area workshops and readings, National Day on Writing events, and the annual faculty-student Halloween mixer and literary scavenger hunt.
