
Participating in an internship can give you an enormous advantage when you start your job search. It gives you real-world experience, a network of contacts, work samples for your portfolio, and a list of professional references. In many cases, you can receive up to three hours of academic credit, and it is not uncommon to receive some monetary compensation for your efforts as well.
