Job opportunities for finance/economics majors after graduation have been some of the fastest-growing positions over the last 10 years and are projected to continue to grow at the same fast pace through 2018 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Graduates with Finance degrees currently work at Deere and Company, Caterpillar, Merrill Lynch, Ameriprise Financial, Inc., and various regional and national corporations.
Economics graduates have found rewarding positions in financial service companies, insurance firms, lending organizations, marketing and environmental agencies, and production and manufacturing companies. Some of those companies are Deere and Company, Caterpillar, Northwest Bank and Trust, and area professional basketball, baseball and hockey franchises.
Many Economics graduates have also taken another route and continued their education by pursuing higher degrees in economics or finance, and a number have gone to law school.
In a recent report, 96 percent of College of Business graduates were either employed full- or part-time, in graduate school, continuing their education, or weren't seeking employment at the time.
