Dr. Choi's research interests focus on lipid metabolism, both in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle tissue in humans; ranging from the study of signaling mechanisms of insulin resistance in skeletal muscle to the regulation of local and whole body lipid metabolism.
Currently, Dr. Choi is interested in the effects of nitric oxide (NO), endothelial (eNOS) and inducible (iNOS) nitric oxide synthase on lipolysis using microdialysis in abdominal and femoral subcutaneous adipose tissue in obese humans before and after exercise training.
