For example, the Sport Management major culminates in an internship experience that ranges from placements and local fitness facilities to professional sports teams and athletic programs. Students gain practical experience as well as develop and strengthen connections within the sport management industry.
It also helps to have solid math skills and a strong interest in business, finance, and accounting, as well as good interpersonal communication skills.
Our Exercise Science program is a pre-professional Bachelor of Science degree to prepare students for an advanced degree in the rapidly-growing health science fields such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine (MD, DO, PA), chiropractic, and exercise physiology research.
Human Performance and Fitness
Our Human Performance and Fitness program is a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recognized program and confers a Bachelor of Science degree for preparation of certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Careers in this field include cardiopulmonary rehabilitation specialist, personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, employee fitness director, and group exercise instructor. This program includes an internship.

Two minors in Health Education are available to students. One fulfills the requirements for a K-12 health education teaching endorsement.
