At Bettendorf Middle School, Ms. Korves teaches 6th and 8th grade math – and 7th grade recovery math, slow-paced 8th grade math, and 8th grade honors math. In her career, she takes to heart what she wanted to do when she arrived as a First Year student at St. Ambrose University: "I have always enjoyed helping people with math and wanted to use my own math ability to help others learn math."
As a student once herself, she found the individualized attention from faculty necessary to her success – and the success of her classmates.
"The professors at St. Ambrose are actually concerned about each student in their class and take time to give each student the individualized attention they need," Korves said.
She's also making an impact on students around the country and statewide by applying her assessment skills to help align standardized tests such as the NAEP, Iowa Assessment, and Smarter Balanced tests to the Common Core state standards.
