Ensembles

Open to all students

Ensembles are open to all students regardless of major. These groups perform at formal and informal events on campus and throughout the community, giving students performance experience before large, diverse audiences.

SAU Ensembles tour periodically throughout the Midwest, and internationally every 3–4 years.

Bee part of a collegiate marching band! We play pre-game, halftime, and post-game for the Fighting Bees home football games.

Athletic Bands

SAU Fighting Bee Marching Band
The Athletic Band Program performs at home football games – including halftime – as well as other SAU community events. Includes Color Guard and Drumline. Meets Fall semester.

SAU Fighting Bee Pep Band
The Pep Band provides upbeat, crowd-boosting music during men's and women's Basketball and Volleyball games, rallies, and other spirited events. Meets Spring semester.

Bee Sharp

An auditioned, all-male ensemble that performs a wide variety of music ranging from Classical and Renaissance to Broadway, Pop and Blues.

Auditions take place the first week of classes.

Bella Voce

An auditioned, all-female ensemble that performs literature ranging from Classical to Popular Music.

Chamber Singers

A select, mixed-voice chamber choir of 15-20 singers which performs literature for the chamber choir, particularly music of the Renaissance, Early Baroque, and Nineteenth-Century Vocal Chamber Music.

Auditions are the first week of classes.

Jazz Ensemble

Specializes in presenting jazz from all eras in addition to Latin, Funk, Fusion, Blues, and Rock.

STAMVOJA

A select ensemble of students who perform a wide range of music, including Jazz and Contemporary a cappella music, often in original arrangements. Membership is by audition.

Auditions take place the first week of classes.

Symphonic Band

Performs the finest music available for the bond medium representing a variety of styles, genres, and time periods.

Rehearsals are twice per week.

University Chorale

A large ensemble of students and community singers studying and performing significant choral literature of all periods and styles, including an emphasis on fascinating new works by living composers.

No formal audition is required, just a brief vocal diagnostic to assess your range.

Rehearsals are three times weekly.
