The St. Ambrose Nursing Department offers an undergraduate program of study for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
The program is unique in that students complete more theory prior to their patient care experiences which extends time to acquire required nursing skills. Unlicensed first year and transfer students are identified as basic students as opposed to registered nurse students who are licensed without a BSN.
The first-try pass rate for St. Ambrose students on the NCLEX nursing licensure exam exceeded the national average in 2011 and 2012. More than 90 percent of students passed on their first try.
