Outline to Graduate

Can a major graduate in 4 years? The vast majority of our majors graduate in four years. In fact, two of our recent graduates finished a semester early.

Overall recommendations: 
30 credits at the 300 level or above and two Writing Intensive classes

+ = applicable toward general education requirements
WI = writing intensive

Year One

Fall - 15 credits recommended
Required:
+WGS 201 Women and Gender Studies: A Cross-Cultural Introduction
This course may also be taken later in the sequence, but as the introduction to the field we recommend students complete it in their first year. (This is usually taught in a learning community with a new student seminar, another class, and Information Literacy).

Choose 2-3 from below:
+COMM 203 Interpersonal Communication or ENGL 101 English Composition
+ENGL 222 Women's Literature
+PSYCH 203 Psychology of Gender (Other 200 level courses may also be possible, if students have taken necessary prerequisites in the Fall). 
+WGS 210 US Latina Literature and Culture 

Spring - 15 credits recommended
Required:

WGS 201 (If not taken in the Fall)

Choose 3 courses (based on Fall choices)
+COMM 203 Interpersonal Communication
+ENGL 222 Women's Literature 
KIN 273 Psychology of the Victim 
+PSYCH 203 Psychology of Gender
+WGS 210 US Latina Literature and Culture
+WGS 310 Topics courses (such as Women in Africa, Women in Art, etc.) May be taken after WMST 201 or with instructor permission.
