I connect alumni and friends to SAU in numerous, meaningful ways, including personal visits, online communication, print publications, event invitations, and volunteer opportunities. I also oversee a team of volunteers who run the SAU Wine Festival events, as well as the SAU Alumni Association Board.

You can contact me to share stories, give input, get involved, plan your return to campus, get reconnected with others, and support SAU.

My connection to St. Ambrose: I was the water girl for the women's basketball team when I was younger (1984-89) and I was married in the chapel, but I'm not an alum. My dad was an administrator, so I wanted to attend a school in a different state. I attended St. Thomas, but returned each summer to take classes and work on campus. My affinity for St. Ambrose never went away; I began my career at St. Ambrose in June 2012.

What I like about my job: I like to hear the stories and experiences of our alumni, as well as reconnecting them with each other and their alma mater. My favorite events are Bee Happy Hour, because it gathers so many groups across the nation to reconnect to St. Ambrose, and Wine Festival, because enjoying a great glass of wine while raising money for student scholarships is a great combination!

Most commonly asked question: I have two: How's your dad (Ed Henkhaus) and what's new at St. Ambrose? My dad is doing great and enjoying retirement, and there's a lot new at St. Ambrose. We always have news about new students, programs, buildings, and our alumni. The thing that stays constant is the relationship students, faculty, staff, and alumni have with each other and their communities. That's what makes us Ambrosians.
