Career Experience

people sitting at a table

The students are on campus learning.... but what else can we do to help them develop into the professional they want to be? The Career Center and Alumni office are teaming up to get alumni involved in the process. You can assist at a career event, serve as a Career Advisor or post an internship or job opportunity! More details below.

If you have questions or are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact Danielle Spengler, Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement.

Career Boot Camp

All volunteer spots have been filled for our Fall 2017 Boot Camp! Alumni are needed to conduct mock interviews, resume, and LinkedIn profile reviews. We invite you to participate in our Spring 2018 Boot Camp activities on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Check back early next year on how to sign up!

Post an Internship or Job Opportunity

Have an internship or job available and want to hire an Ambrose student or graduate (because you know how awesome they are)? Post a job now through our online portal, BeeCAREERS.

Having trouble? Please contact Danielle Spengler, Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement.

Networking & Etiquette Dinner

The evening begins with a networking event, followed by a four-course meal served during an etiquette presentation. Alumni volunteers sit at tables with students so they can practice their networking and etiquette skills. Our next dinner is April 4, 2018. Watch for details early next year!

Career Fairs

Career Fairs allow students the opportunity to meet employers face-to-face and tell them how hiring you can benefit their company or organization. Alumni can get involved by recruiting for their company or using the fairs to further their own personal career!

Pro-Fair - September 21, 2017, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Augustana College, PEPSICO Center

This event is presented by Augustana College and St. Ambrose University. It connects our students and alumni to prospective employers, internship opportunities, and graduate schools. These are typically hosted in the fall and spring. Our spring Pro-Fair is Wednesday, March 22, 2018 at St. Ambrose University.

Graduate School Fair - October 17, 2017, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Augustana College, Gerber Center for Student Life

Students and alumni will have the opportunity to learn about various graduate programs and meet with representatives from universities across the country. Free for alumni.

Health Sciences Fair - November 7, 2017, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.,  St. Ambrose Rogalski Center Ballroom

This event is presented by St. Ambrose University, connecting our students and alumni who are seeking fieldwork opportunities, internships, clinical experiences and/or full-time employment in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, and physician assistant studies. Free for alumni.

Volunteer Career Advisor

Looking for a meaningful yet lightweight engagement opportunity? Help our students bridge the gap between college and career by signing up as a career advisor through The Bee Connection. This networking tool allows alumni to share advice and tips with students regarding career prep such as internship and job shadowing possibilities. Once you've signed up, students will be able to view your profile and reach out to you!
