New students to the University are already using 2007 and 2010 so it is time for us to join them and stay current with technology.
What are the benefits of Office 2010?
If you are upgrading from 2003 the advanced features and ribbon-based menu system (which replaced the menus and toolbars) are numerous and you will definitely be impressed.
Office 2010 is very similar to Office 2007 so you should only need minimal training on the upgrade.
When I get Outlook 2010, will my contacts and auto-complete addresses still be there?
Will upgrading affect the documents I created in earlier version of Office?
No. All of your older versions of Office will open Office 2010.
How will you get support?
CIDT and IT are gearing up to support the newer version across the campus and there will be a variety of training methods, quick reference manuals, video-based tutorials and classroom training.
What if you are still using Office 2003?
Office 2010 is very different from 2003 and we will give you plenty of time to attend training sessions on 2010 before your computer is upgraded. Keeping Office 2003 on your computer isn't feasible especially since support for Office 2003 is coming to and end.
