All participants must bring a valid SAU ID card to each and every activity. Supervisors, graduate assistants, and officials may request an ID card at any time to verify participation. If any participant does not have a valid SAU ID card he/she must go to the Dean of Students and Residence Life Office to get one (this includes all students and employees). NO ID = NO PLAY!

How can I sign up for an intramural team?
Roster cards are the forms that must be completed in order to participate in intramural sports events. These forms are available in the Campus Recreation Office. Roster cards should be turned in on each sport's entry day. Roster cards received after the entry due date will be placed on a waiting list. If spots open up within a league/tournament participants/teams on the waiting list may be placed into the open slots, time and space permitting. To ensure a participant/team gets into a league/tournament, Roster Cards should be turned in, even if signatures are still needed on the back of the form. The fall and spring IM schedule can be found on the website or in the student planner. Typically, 14-18 individual/team sports events are held throughout the year.

All players must sign the roster card before participation is allowed. Campus Recreation personnel will have each team's roster card available at events to help verify participation. Only those people already listed on the roster card will be allowed to participate that night or sign the card. Player additions to roster cards will not be allowed on-site.

How can I sign up a person if I already submitted my roster card?
Roster addition cards are the forms used to add someone to a team's roster once the league/tournament has started. These cards are available in the Campus Recreation Office. Players approved to rosters must still sign the roster card before participation will be allowed. In leagues followed by post-season play, roster acquisitions will not be allowed after the last league game/match.

Can I add someone to my roster at a game?
No. All additions must be approved by Campus Recreation personnel before the addition to the roster is made and play allowed. Players must complete a roster addition card no later than noon the day of the game in order for the acquisition to be processed.

If I can't fill or find a team, can I still play on a team?
Yes. Participants who wish to participate in a team sport but cannot fill or find a team need to sign up as a free agent and do that on the Campus Recreation web site. Once a participant completes the online free agent form, names are posted on a page displaying all of the available free agents. Team captains are informed of available free agents and acquire them as needed. There are times in which there are so many free agents for a particular sport within the same division that entire teams are created solely of free agents.Though the department cannot guarantee all free agents play, the department works diligently so that all can participate.

How many different divisions can I play in?
No player can participate on more than one team within the same division for the same sport. This includes simultaneously participating in a competitive league and a recreational league. Players may however simultaneously participate on either a men's or women's team while participating on a co-rec team.

How do I get involved with Outdoor Recreation?
Outdoor trips are scheduled throughout the year. Some trips are one-day trips while others are overnight trips. Given the nature of the activities there are often fees to participate. Participants pay a nominal fee for their own trips, but often receive discounts that the department has negotiated with site vendors. Sign-ups are in the Campus Recreation Office by the deadline. Deadlines are in the Student Planner and on the Campus Recreation website. Examples of trips/locations include, but are not limited to: Maquoketa Caves, Snowstar Ski/Tubing, Devil's Lake (WI), Duck Creek Park Way, and West Lake Park.
