Campus Recreation uses several facilities throughout theyear to conduct events and activities.

Bishop's Quad

The Bishop's Quad is a small green area located in the middle of Cosgrove Hall, Ambrose Hall, and LeClaire Hall. Known as a a busy location for those heading to the cafeteria or to classrooms, this space is used occasionally for Wacky Wednesday activities and other special events.

Eastern Avenue Park Disc Golf Course

The Eastern Avenue Park Disc Golf Course is associated with the Professional Disc Golf Association and was established in 2002. The length of the course is 6409 feet with an average hole length of 356.06 feet.

  • Directions: Leaving St. Ambrose University, take Locust Street heading east. Turn left (north) on Easter Avenue. The park is located on the left-hand side of the road (west side) just across 29th Street from the Annie Wittenmyer Complex. Parking is on the left-hand side of Eastern Avenue.


Game Room

Students can take a break between classes in the Game Room, located on the first floor of the Rogalski Center. The Game Room has a variety of recreational activities. Included are: a dart board, foosball, table tennis, pool, air hockey, and video games. In addition, the student operated facility has a several televisions. Several self-scheduling IM events and other special events are held in the Game Room. The Game Room can be reached at 563/333-6396.

Lee Lohman Arena

The Lee Lohman Arena was built in 1983 and is located on the northeast corner of campus. It contains two racquetball courts, a weight room, a jogging track, golf/baseball nets, classrooms, meeting rooms, training room, locker rooms, and the versatility to create three basketball courts, six badminton courts, and three volleyball courts.

Sand Volleyball Court

The sand volleyball court has made it's way back to campus. The former court was where Bechtel Hall currently sits. The new court is on the Locust Street side (south) of the SAU Library. It is used for intramural sand volleyball and for open recreation.

St. Vincent Field

St. Vincent Field is located north of the main campus on the corner of Western Avenue and W. 28th. This multi-purpose field is used for the majority of our intramural contests.

  • Directions: From the Timmerman Field, take Lombard Street to Gaines Street. Turn right (north) onto Gaines Street to West Central Park Avenue. Turn right (east) onto West Central Park Avenue and take a quick left (north) on Western Avenue. The field will be ahead on your left approximately 2.5 blocks.


Timmerman Field

Timmerman Field is located on the north side of campus to the west of Lee Lohman Fieldhouse. This multi-purpose field is used for multiple intramural contests.

Weight Room

The following is a list of the equipment the Lee Lohman Weight Room has to offer: Decline Bench, Incline Bench, Flat Bench, Cable Crossover, Abdominal, Back Extension, Rotary Hip, Leg Press, Leg Extension, Military Press Bench, Dip/Chin Assist, Back Extension, Hip Abductor, Torso (Rotary), Arm Curl, Lat Pulldown/Row, Rear Delt/Fly, Chest/Shoulder Press, Curl Bench, Stand-Up Ab Bench, Scorpion Bench w/ Ball, Situp Ab Machines, and Dumbbell Sets & Racks.
