Interested in living off campus? You've come to the right place! Visit the Neighborhood Relations website for information on how to be a good neighbor.

Criteria to live off-campus
  • You have at least 60 credit hours completed by the end of the Spring 2013 semester.
  • You are living at your permanent residence with your parent or legal guardian within 30 miles of campus.

Things to consider
  1. Institutional Aid. Each institutional grant or scholarship has individual criteria for amounts awarded and some may have GPA requirements to stay eligible. We have an off-campus institutional cap of $8,000 for the 2013-2014 academic year. If you move off campus, your award will be revised accordingly. Please contact Financial Aid at 563/333-6314 to discuss how your award would be modified.
  2. Off-Campus Housing Incentive. With the construction of North Hall (and the addition of 200 beds), we are not, at this time, seeking volunteers to move off campus; there is no incentive for 2013-2014.
    • Your meal plan. Meal plans are optional for off-campus students. For specific information about options available for commuting students please contact Sodexo Food Service at 563/333-6360.
    • Interested in moving back on campus? Contact Residence Life to submit a housing contract and $250 deposit. Housing will be granted by availability and preference will be given according to the date contracts and deposits are received.
    • Off-campus housing options. Complete listings are kept in the Residence Life office, open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Please note that listings are not in affiliation with St. Ambrose University. While SAU checks with the city of Davenport to verify that each property is in good standing with the City Inspector's Office, the institution does not endorse further.  Click here to look at off-campus housing options.
    • Tenants' rights.  As an off-campus resident it is important you are familiar with your rights as a tenant. We've provided more information on tenants' rights or a list of things to keep in mind while looking at properties. Additional information will be available at the Off-Campus Housing Fair. St. Ambrose values neighborhood relations and wants you to know how to do your part.
    • Housing Deposit Refund Request. If you are planning on living off-campus for the 2013-2014 academic year and do not submit a housing contract please download a form to request your $250 housing deposit to be refunded. All requests must be submitted by April 15, 2012 to be considered.
