Honor SocietiesStudents who exhibit the highest level of scholarship in their majors or campus life are invited to participate in Greek-letter inter/national honors organizations specific to their area of study. Honors groups promote academic excellence and engagement in the campus community. There are also organizations that recognize the achievement of adult, first-year, and international students as well as leadership and general academic excellence.
A national honor society for juniors and seniors. Membership is offered to students who are in the upper 10 percent of their class. Transfer students are eligible after completing 24 credit hours at St. Ambrose.

An honor society for biology majors. Students must be in good standing and maintain a 3.0 gpa in all biology course work. Students must also complete one semester of biology course work in addition to completing a year of general biology.

A national scholastic honor society for Catholic college and university students. The Ambrose XI Chapter is a charter member. Members are selected by a faculty committee. To be considered, students must have a B average and participate in student activities.

An international honor society open to qualified individuals pursuing careers in education. To qualify, students must have been admitted to education, completed 45 hours including 12 hours in education, and earned an SAU GPA of 3.25 or higher. KDP sponsors an initiation banquet, information meetings, as well as social action projects throughout the year.

Founded 1919 at the University of California Berkeley, Sigma Delta Pi honors those who have completed three years of study of college-level Spanish, including at least three semester hours of a course in Hispanic literature or Hispanic culture and civilization with a minimal gpa of 3.0 in all Spanish courses taken. Candidates must also rank in the upper 35 percent of their class and have completed at least three semesters (or five quarters) of college work.

A nationally recognized honor society to empower college women to celebrate their voices and speak out for women's rights all across the globe. The main focus is on service and education. We encourage the education of women in issues concerning human rights and the need for change within our current systems to promote the equality of all persons.
