Career Center

Students

The Career Center staff are here to help you – starting with your first day of college and even after you graduate.

Please make an appointment to visit us during your first semester of college. We want to start building a relationship with you early so we can offer strategies that will help you become successful in getting accepted into graduate school or obtaining your first professional position.

The SAU Career Center works when you use it: Look at our graduate survey employment data to learn about the successes of recent alumni in finding employment or gaining acceptance into graduate school.

Students are encouraged to use the following services as well as the SAU portal for resources such as information on what you can do with your major, resume samples, and job/internship sites:

  • Explore Majors and Careers: Meet with a Career Advisor to gain resources, information, and support in finding and pursuing the best major for you.
  • Graduate School: If you're considering graduate school, the Career Center can help you explore your options, make an informed decision, and review your personal statement and other application documents.
  • Internships: Make sure you attend one of our internship sessions to find out how to secure an internship in your major. See our calendar of events to find out when we will be having our next session.
  • Interviewing: Learn how to ace one of the most important parts of the job search process - the interview - by participating in mock interviews with employers at the bi-annual Career Boot Camp or with a Career Advisor.
  • BeeCAREERS: Post a profile, search full-time, part-time, workstudy, and non-workstudy on campus job and internship listings, upload resumes and sign up for on-campus recruiting.
  • Resume, Cover Letter and LinkedIn profile writing: Start by checking out the resources on the portal and then meet with one of our Career Advisors to make sure your documents are polished.
  • The Bee Connection: Connect online with St. Ambrose University alumni and friends who have volunteered to answer career-related questions.

Our staff is ready to assist you with all of the above!  Please make an appointment today by contacting 563-333-6339 or careercenter@sau.edu
