Let us come to your Iowa or Illinois high school to talk to students and/or parents about engineering with our "Exploring Engineering On the Road" (EEOR)!
Teams consist of undergraduate engineering students, Engineering and Physics faculty, and/or industry engineers who lead high school students through the engineering design process and a brainstorming activity. Because underrepresented groups are motivated to pursue careers in which they help others or contribute to society, the activity is designed to highlight the humanistic nature of engineering.
Participants will go through the engineering design process to solve an actual problem and build a functional prototype of a robotic hand. A concluding question-and-answer session allows students to better understand the SAU engineering and physics programs.
