As a Catholic University, rooted in the liberal arts tradition, St. Ambrose University’s College of Health and Human Services prepares leaders in the health sciences, human services and education. We are committed to the development of proficient and ethical professionals through innovative programs that emphasize excellence in teaching, scholarship, and collaboration with interdisciplinary and community based partnerships. Our graduates provide services in a diverse and global society that enhance human resources and foster life-long learning.
Faculty and staff of the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) believe that all individuals involved with the preparation of future teachers and health sciences professionals, as well as the individuals preparing to enter those professions, must conduct themselves in manner consistent with that expected by their respective professions, and must meet the expectations established through each professions code of ethics. It is the belief of the CHHS that faculty, staff and students must respect the inherent worth, dignity and human rights of all individuals, maintain compassionate and caring relationships with colleagues and others with a commitment to treat all colleagues and others fairly, and with respect and compassion.
It is expected that faculty, staff and students hold to the highest standards for confidentiality of information, which requires that relevant data be shared only with those who have a need to know, i.e., those directly involved in the situation, and no one else. All members of the CHHS must refrain from plagiarism, having others produce assigned work, fabricating data used in research or observation projects, and dishonesty in taking exams.
It is expected that all faculty, staff and students know and follow all policies and procedures established by individual departments and programs within the CHHS. Each member of the CHHS will adhere to the professional standards of dress and demeanor expected by their individual disciplines.
Through these behaviors it is anticipated that all within the CHHS will be able to live and work in an atmosphere of trust and respect.
