Image/File Naming Conventions

Files are named intuitively to provide a clue to their content.

  • Use the following format for Full Size images (240px x160px):
Abbreviation and last two digits of the year photo was taken, followed by a dash, and then a second descriptive abbreviation (if applicable) or person's name (last name, first name) and two-digit number (if there's more than one photo in the series).

  • Small Thumbnail images should have the same image name as the Full Size image, with "-T" appended to the end.
  • File names include the appropriate extension (.gif, .jpeg, .doc).
  • File names do not include spaces. Instead, use hyphens.
