Transfer Guide: Computer Network Administration

TRANSFER FACTS

• Students wishing to enter the Computer Information Systems major at SAU are encouraged to complete the course recommendations below within the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree at Black Hawk College.
• Students transferring with an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree will be admitted to SAU with junior status and most general education courses completed.
• Students electing to transfer without an AA or AS degree will have their transcript evaluated on a course-by-course basis. These students are advised to follow SAU general education recommendations.
• Students are advised to apply to SAU one year in advance of the term they wish to transfer.
• Once an application has been submitted to SAU, a transcript should be sent from BHC to the SAU Admissions Office after each term completed.
• A maximum of 64 semester hours may be transferred from community colleges toward the 120 hours required for a bachelor's degree from SAU.

NOTES:

1. A grade of "C" or better is required in both ENG 101 and ENG 102.
2. MATH 131 requires a Compass College Algebra score of 46 or prior completion of MATH 112 with a grade of "C" or higher. Students who meet the requirement may enter MATH 131 directly.
3. Physical Science Electives: Any BHC IAI P course. Note: Life Science or Physical Science must include a lab.
4. Recommended electives include: CIP 204 + CIP 205, or CIP 226 + CIP 227, or ENG 132 or ACCT 101/103 or BA 250 or HPE (101-200) or HEAL 102 or foreign language if needed (see Foreign Language note below). It is not recommended that total hours earned exceed minimum BHC degree requirement of 64 semester hours.
5. Humanities/Fine Arts Electives: Any BHC IAI H, F or HF course. It is recommended that students complete one introductory philosophy course at BHC to meet the prerequisite for the upper level philosophy/theology requirement at SAU.
Foreign Language Note:
SAU requires three years of the same language in high school or the equivalent 2 semesters at the college level. Sign language may meet this requirement. Foreign language below the 202 level will not meet a humanities requirement at Black Hawk College.
6. Non-Western Studies Electives: Any BHC IAI N course or one of the following AG 288, ECON 270, SBS 200 or SPEC 175.
7. Social and Behavioral Science Electives: Any BHC IAI S course.
8. NETW 216 has prerequisites of: NETW 215, NETW 210, COER 112, COER 116 and CS 100.
9. Life Science Electives: Any BHC IAI L1 course. Note: Life Science or Physical Science must include a lab.
