EICCD: Clinton, Muscatine & Scott Community College St. Ambrose University - Theatre This Guide is intended to assist students who plan to transfer to St. Ambrose University and pursue a degree in Theatre. Use this guide with an EICCD A.A. Graduation Worksheet to select your courses. Additional information about the theatre major can be found at http://www.sau.edu/Academic_Programs/Theatre.html. For this reason this document should be used as a guide only and should not replace consultation with your community college advisor or SAU advisor.
Dual Admission Program: As soon as you have been accepted to Clinton, Muscatine or Scott Community College, you may participate in the St. Ambrose Dual Admission program by completing a SAU application and indicating your intended date to transfer. Through Dual Admission you will receive SAU advising support while earning your associate's degree, plus you can attend SAU home athletic events and Galvin Fine Arts performances, plus use the Physical Education Center and career development services at no cost. Students who apply for the Dual Admission program prior to completing 30 credits toward an associate's degree are eligible for a special $1,000 scholarship when beginning fulltime studies at St. Ambrose. Transfer: Students who transfer to St. Ambrose with an A.A. or A.S. degree from a college of EICCD will be admitted to SAU with junior status, provided the student has earned at minimum a 2.00 Grade Point Average (GPA). Note: It is recommended that as you select courses for your associate's degree, general education coursework should include a philosophy course. SAU also has a Health/Physical Education graduation requirement which can be met by completing PEH:109 Personal Wellness. Students who do not complete an associate degree prior to transfer will have their courses reviewed and accepted on a course-by-course basis. Click here for Course Equivalencies. SAU requires a minimum grade of C in English Composition II, speech and math courses.
Foreign Language: SAU's foreign language requirement can be met by 3 years of study of the same foreign language in high school or by demonstrating competency through the second semester of a foreign language at the college level (complete 2 semesters of the same foreign language). American Sign Language may fulfill this requirement.
