What is a BeeCard?
The BeeCard is your official St. Ambrose University photo identification card. Students are expected to have their card on their person at all times. The BeeCard will be used to access goods and services on and around campus. Residential students will utilize the BeeCard to gain access into their residence hall.
Who can get a BeeCard?
All St. Ambrose University full-time and part-time students, faculty, and staff can get a BeeCard.
Where do I get my BeeCard?
The BeeCard Services desk is located inside the Dean of Students/Residence Life office suite (Rogalski Center, 2nd floor). During the Fall & Spring Term (during weeks that main campus classes are in session) the office is open Monday, Thursday & Friday - 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday & Wednesday - 8 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. During the summer the office is open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. After hours appointments are available, but please call at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements.
What do I bring to get my BeeCard?

Can I have a funny photo taken?
While we do enjoy a good laugh, the BeeCard photo needs to be of a more professional nature. Photos may not contain any accessory such as colored glasses (that hide the eyes), bandanas, caps, hats or other head covering (cultural exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis). Outrageous facial expressions or gestures will not be included in the photograph. Additionally, hands or other body parts are also excluded from the photograph. In accordance with all federal, state and local laws, the photograph taken and utilized for the BeeCard may be used as directory information and utilized as designated with any and all University programs and/or approved usages.
When can I get my BeeCard?
BeeCards for incoming Fall term students will not be released prior to August 1, cards for incoming Spring term students will not be released before January 1, incoming summer student cards will not be released before May 1 immediately prior to their start term. Dual Admissions students may obtain their card after completion of required paperwork with the St. Ambrose Admissions office. Faculty and staff may obtain their BeeCard once they have completed all required paperwork with Human Resources.
Do I receive a new BeeCard every year?
No, the BeeCard you receive is for the duration of your enrollment or employment at St. Ambrose University. It is valid for 4 years from the issue date. For those who remain enrolled or employed at St. Ambrose beyond the expiration of the card, simply stop by the BeeCard Services desk, turn in your expired card and receive a complimentary replacement.
What if I lost my BeeCard?
If your BeeCard is lost, you must report the loss immediately. Please contact the BeeCard Services desk at 563-333-6240 during business hours. If the loss is discovered after business hours, please contact Security at 563-333-6104 to have the card deactivated.
To obtain a replacement, please visit the BeeCard Services desk found inside the Dean of Students/Residence Life suite in the Rogalski Center, 2nd floor to purchase a replacement during normal business hours. You will be charged $25 for the new card. Students must charge the fee to their student account. Faculty and Staff must pay the fee in Student Accounts and bring a receipt with them to obtain a replacement card.
I lost my BeeCard, but I found an old one, can it be reactivated?
Unfortunately, our software no longer allows us to reactivate an old card. You will, however, be given a $10 credit for turning in an inactive card.
What if my BeeCard is stolen?
If your BeeCard is stolen on campus, please file a theft report with Security. You may receive a replacement card at no charge if you can present a police report or a report from St. Ambrose Campus Security. Otherwise, you will be charged the $25 replacement fee.
Is there a fee for my BeeCard?
No, there is no fee for your first BeeCard. However, if you lose your card, a replacement fee of $25 will be charged to obtain a new one.
Why is my BeeCard not working?
There are a number of reasons why a card may stop working. Some of the more common reasons are:

What if my BeeCard is damaged?
If your card is damaged or not working, please bring it to the BeeCard Services desk within the Dean of Students/Residence Life suite in the Rogalski Center, 2nd floor and a representative will determine if your card is still functional. A card with normal wear and tear will be replaced at no charge.
Can I decorate or punch holes in my BeeCard?
No, do not affix stickers or other items to your BeeCard unless the sticker is produced and/or distributed by the BeeCard Services staff or its designee. Do not punch or place a hole in your card. To extend the life of your card, please handle it carefully and store your card in protective sleeve or wallet. Do not put it in a washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher. Do not use it as an ice scraper or any other form of tool. Do not store your card with keys or other items that could scratch or bend the card.
Can I have more than one BeeCard?
No, for security reasons we cannot allow you to have more than one BeeCard. If you lost a card and purchased a replacement, but then found the original card, you may turn that into the BeeCard Services desk for a $10 credit.
Can I loan my BeeCard to a friend?
No, your BeeCard is for individual use only. Never loan a card to another individual. To protect cardholders, the University staff will examine cards when presented for goods or services to confirm the person to whom it was issued is using the card. These staff members will not accept a BeeCard if the photo on the card does not look like the individual presenting the card and will notify the BeeCard Services staff when they have declined a card transaction. The individual to whom the card was issued will be responsible for any activities, services, privileges, or sale transactions that occurred if their was loaned or given to another person.
What if I do not like the picture on my BeeCard?
We will be more than happy to take another picture for you, but please note that you will be charged the $25 replacement fee.
How do I change the name on my BeeCard?
Students need to visit the Records & Registration office; Faculty and Staff members need to visit the Human Resources office, both in Ambrose Hall. You will be asked to provide legal documentation representing the name change. Once the name change has been processed by the above offices, we will be happy to collect your previous card and replace it at no charge. If you no longer have your previous card you will be charged $25 for a replacement card.
What are BuzzBucks and how do I add funds to my BeeCard?
Students with an active meal plan will have a limited number of BuzzBucks automatically applied to their card. Any person can add BuzzBuck funds to a BeeCard by contacting Sodexo staff at 563-333-6360 and paying with a credit card. Cash or checks may be taken to the Sodexo office within the Cosgrove Hall Cafeteria. You will need to inform them of the barcode numbers printed on your card. To make purchases with BuzzBuck funds, simply present your card to the cashier in the Rogalski Center snackbar, Ambrose Hall Beehive Coffee Shop (coming soon) or the Center for Health Science snack bar, and of course in the Cosgrove Hall Cafeteria and tell them you would like to use BuzzBucks.
What benefits come with my BeeCard?
Access: Residential students will utilize their BeeCard to gain access to their residence hall exterior doors. Students residing in North Hall will also use their card to enter their suite.
Meal Plan / Buzz Bucks: For those who are participating in a meal plan, or who have a BuzzBucks account, you are able to use your card to dine "cash-less" in our dining locations.
Library Card: Access to not only the St. Ambrose University library but also with the libraries in our community that are part of the RiverShare network. The library has more than just books for check out. Go to the Library website for more details.
Free bus rides: Ride the Davenport CitiBus fixed routes and Illinois MetroLINK routes at no charge by presenting your ID when you board. For route information please go to the websites at: CitiBus or MetroLINK
Lee Lohman Fitness Center: Access to use the weight room and equipment available, as well as free entrance to most athletic events. Click for hours of operation

Discounts at local businesses: Many of the businesses in our community will offer discounts to BeeCard holders. Please make a habit of asking as you patronize these local businesses.
