First and Second Year Experience

Half the Sky book cover

SAU's 2014-15 First Book is Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. As a First Year student enrolled in New Student Seminar, you will read this book to begin a campus conversation centered around our annual theme of Gender

Take part in the many events offered on campus centered around this topic to expand your knowledge, discuss your perceptions, and create change for the future. You will even get the opportunity to have your book signed by the author after her lecture in October!
