Learning technique

In many programs, practical and experiential learning is interwoven with coursework, which enhances your ability to apply knowledge as you learn:

• Although the faculty's primary commitment is to teaching, you'll have opportunities to work with them on research, including projects with local organizations. For example, Professor Terry Schlabach takes her Master of Occupational Therapy students to her private practice to work with pediatric patients.

• Students often work in teams, which is a standard practice across the professional landscape today. But it also promotes our sense of community. Read how Master of Business Administration students pitched in to renovate a Davenport shelter property as part of a course called "Experiential Team."

• St. Ambrose's size and residential programs support cohort learning. Research demonstrates that this model, which allows you to learn with the same small group of students, is best for building relationships with professors and fellow students. This kind of community provides a natural base for future networking.
