Password Reset How-To

The IT Department uses a password management system.

This password manager can link your email and network IDs, text alerts, and resets – all available without calling the IT department. It is also available via mobile: iOS – Search for Access Manager by Logon Box; Android – Search for Nervepoint Access Manager.

If you need help remembering passwords, there are several free and secure password management apps such as Keypass, Dashlane, or LastPass; your browser may also have a secure password management feature.

Click below for directions to set up your profile and/or reset your password.

Instructions to Create a Password Management Account

Before resetting your password, users will need to create a password manager account. If you are attempting to reset your password because your current password expired, and you do not have your account setup, please call the Help Desk at 563-333-6368 for assistance.

  1. Go to https://am.sau.edu (Accessing via a desktop or laptop computer works best for account creation)
  2. Choose "My Account." Enter your SAU ID and password. If you do not know or cannot use your current password, please call the Help Desk.
  3. Enter your phone number and security questions. The questions will help you log in if you need to reset your password in the future.
    • If you do not want to provide a phone number for personal reasons, you can click cancel. If you click cancel, it will skip through the phone number and questions portion and take you to the dashboard. However, we do suggest providing a phone number for security purposes.
  4. Choose Finish. You will see a progress window.
