Initiatives and News

  • During Welcome Week, we give a special welcome to our racially and culturally diverse new students during the Multicultural Open House and Social.
  • In 2014, the Office of Intercultural Life expanded the number of conference opportunities for students. Keep on the lookout in your campus email for conference details, and click here to learn more about conference opportunities.
  • The Multicultural House opened its doors Fall 2015 with FREE Food Friday. At various times throughout the school year, the campus community is invited to sample ethnic foods while learning about the food and culture through a cooking demonstration and having dialogue among new associates and friends.
  • Love to explore other cities? In Spring 2016 as part of Multicultural Week, students attended the first Cultural Excursion to Chicago where they explored cultural museums and restaurants. The goal was to introduce students to cities within a 6-hour radius of the university and provide them with the opportunity to research and explore other cultures through food, museums, song, dance, and theatre. The Spring 2018 Cultural Excursion trip planning will soon be underway by the student organization, Multicultural Affairs Community Action. To get in on the planning process, you are invited to join the student organization. All are welcome!
