The next step in preparing to arrive is deciding on your housing! St. Ambrose is known for having some of the best on-campus accommodation in our region.
For upperclassmen (those in their third or fourth year or in graduate studies), much of our housing is "suite style," with shared kitchens and living areas, or in houses adjacent to campus. First and second year students are provided shared rooms, many of which have adjacent bathrooms and shared lounge areas on each floor.
For all students, living on campus is the best way to have a real "American" university experience, with lots of opportunities to become part of the St. Ambrose community. Upperclassmen and graduate students may also choose to live off campus. Our Residence Life Office can provide you with information on rental opportunities in the area.
If you will be living on campus, the link to our housing contract will be sent to you in an email shortly after you have been admitted. Housing is assigned by priority, based upon receipt of deposit. A $250 damage deposit must be submitted with your contract.
On-campus housing is guaranteed for new international students until the housing contract deadlines:
After the deadline, housing is offered based on availability. Please note that housing is often very full in the Fall semester. If you plan to start in the fall (August), please submit the housing contract and $250 damage deposit as soon as possible.
International students are allowed to remain on campus for the summer break, if they do not intend to travel home. Please contact Residence Life regarding housing and roommates during the summer.
St. Ambrose does not provide family housing, but there are numerous housing options close to campus. Please contact Residence Life for more information on your options for living off campus.
