As St. Ambrose University Dean of Students, I welcome you to the inaugural issue of "Connections," an email newsletter about our shared neighborhood. As I look back on the past four years I see we have made great strides.
First, we've developed relationships grounded by mutual respect; learned more about how we might best establish effective channels of communication; and figured out how to begin working together for the benefit of the common good. Secondly, the formation of the Neighborhood Relations Council (NRC) has proven itself invaluable, as evidenced during our main campus PID application process.
Finally, the NRC has also been about supporting neighborhood groups, and several areas around campus have come together in response. We have demonstrated that working together—while not always easy—is best. There is much work ahead and we welcome the opportunities.
So enjoy an update from your NRC; try out the links to other websites; read an interview with one of our neighbors; and consider yourself invited to several upcoming events!
Sincerely,
Tim
