The St. Ambrose Doctor of Physical Therapy Orthopaedic Clinical Residency Program is one of only 41 such residences in the country—and the only physical therapy residency program in the state of Iowa.
The former Orthopaedic Specialists Sports Complex (commonly known as the Brady Street Bubble), was purchased by St. Ambrose last March. A Name the Bubble contest on campus resulted in its new designation as The Ambrose Dome.
In July, Monsignor Robert Gruss ’90 was ordained Bishop of the Diocese of Rapid City, S.D. Having entered the priesthood in his late 30s, the 55-year-old Gruss asked, “Who could have written this script except the Lord?”
Rolled out this fall, the Mechanical Engineering program is the only program in the Quad Cities and one of only three in Iowa. With this new offering from the Engineering and Physics Department, St. Ambrose is preparing to become a direct competitor in that field with other public, Midwestern universities.
It isn’t everyday you see a university president don a flight suit—let alone one with a “Blue Angels” emblem on it. Even so, this fall President Joan Lescinski, CSJ, did just that and “flew with the Angels.”
