It is the story of 20 teachers from a school in Arizona who improved their students' achievement and their school climate by choosing to go through the National Board Certification process as their professional development.

The film deals with the effects of poverty and the issues of race which impact education today and how these twenty teachers worked together to change their school from within. The Mitchell 20 proves that teacher-led, student-oriented grassroots efforts can overcome some of the immense obstacles in public schools today.

After the screening, there will be a panel discussion presented by National Board Certified Teachers from Iowa and Illinois.

Light refreshments will be served.

Sponsored by a partnership between the St. Ambrose School of Education, the Davenport Education Association and the Davenport School District.

The Rogalski Center is located at the corner of Ripley and Lombard Streets, one block west of Harrison Street
