Panel of SAU Veterans
A panel of eight veterans and service members connected to St. Ambrose will reflect on their time in the military, on the transition process, and on their experiences as college students, alumni and faculty.

Featured Speaker: J.J. Konstant, Capt., USMC, SAU '03
J.J. is a 2003 alum and former all-academic conference basketball player at SAU. Following graduation, he went on to serve as a Marine officer in both Afghanistan and Iraq, earning two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. In 2005, J.J. participated in "Operation Whalers," which was conceived in retaliation for the ambush of Navy SEALs depicted in the recent major motion picture Lone Survivor, and for the subsequent MH-47 Chinook shootdown which claimed 16 American lives.

Military Appreciation Day 2014: SAU Fighting Bees basketball vs. William Penn
Free for veterans and military service members with valid ID; free admission for general public with the donation of three non-perishable food items

The following times have changed due to inclement weather.

3 p.m. - The Queen Bees will tip off against William Penn. At halftime, John Cooper, vice president for enrollment management, will present the Fighting Bee Award to Capt. J.J. Konstant, USMC, SAU '03, followed by a performance by the SAU Dance team.

5 p.m. - The Fighting Bees will take the court against William Penn with a SAU Dance team performance at halftime.

The student veterans group, MAVO, will be on hand to sell t-shirts and collect donations for the VA Homeless Outreach Center in Rock Island.
