Brian Borchardt's bookworks, Letters from the Fringe, reflect his passion for books, reading, and printing. The physical nature of books is strongly ingrained in his desire to create pieces that are tactile, intriguing, and accessible. Setting type, operating the press, folding papers, and binding–all these aspects touch upon the physical nature of the book. Curator of Scarabocchio Art Museum in Stevens Point, Wis., Borchardt is founder/proprietor of Seven Hills Press.
Born in St. Louis and currently based in Iowa City, Erick Wolfmeyer attributes his passion for quilting to mending early losses and discovering pathways to beauty and meaning through patience, faith, and forgiveness. His quilts integrate interests in architecture, nature, current events, spirituality, music, literature, and memory. He earned a BFA in photography from Washington University in St. Louis and made his first quilt in 1998.
