This month in Galvin, Andrew Nordin and Lisa Bergh will be exhibiting bold, vibrant abstract paintings and drawings in both the Catich and the Morrissey Galleries! The reception for both spaces occurs on Wednesday, March 8 starting at 4pm with our signature Artist Q&A series involving both artists discussing their work in the Catich Gallery. Revelry and celebration will then ensue, beginning at 5pm!
For the Morrissey gallery, Andrew and Lisa present Observation and Inquiry, an exhibition that reflects their creative practices and their studio routines. These background materials will offer insight into how these artists find abstract form in their everyday environment.
In addition to all of this, the Catich Gallery and the Art Department will be utilizing The Traveling Museum, a trailer transformed into a gallery! Built and managed by Andrew Nordin and Lisa Bergh as part of their Rural Aesthetic Initiative, The Traveling Museum allows us the opportunity reach out to our community - especially the public libraries and high schools in the area. In partnership with the Figge Museum of Art, we will be driving throughout the Quad Citites to take art to the people! Check out our Facebook page to keep up with our adventures with The Traveling Museum!
