St. Ambrose students have generously donated their time and talent throughout the 2007-2008 academic year. Here is a recap of just some of the involvement toward helping to better the lives of others:
SAU Big Brothers/Big Sisters - 50 students and more than 1,300 hours of service
Bee the Difference Day, a project helping campus neighbors with house- or yard-work, - 150 Ambrosians providing 750 hours of service
Ambrosians for Peace and Justice - three service trips: 10 students and staff worked in New Orleans logging 400 service hours; 13 traveled to Appalachia working 500 hours; and seven went to Chicago, providing 224 hours of service.
Service Learning - 75 students and more than 1,875 hours of service
FAST FEST - 157 Ambrosians fasted for 30 hours to raise money for the poor - 4,710 hours.
SAU Habitat for Humanity - more than 700 hours helping the local affiliate and volunteering during spring break in Texas
Confirmation Retreats for area junior high students - 50 hours
Up ‘til Dawn - Close to $14,000 raised for St. Jude's Children's Hospitals.
SAU Athletes - approximately 7,500 hours of community service
This is the embodiment of the Ambrose spirit of service!
