SAU Students Perform with U.S. Army Band

March 2010

Six SAU Symphonic Band students have been selected to perform with the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldier's Chorus at "A Call to Remember," a concert at the iWireless Center, Saturday, April 17, at 7 pm. The students selected are:

FLUTE–Rachel Breitbach, Dubuque
CLARINET–Heather Runyon, St. Louis, MO; Abigail Sloan, Rock Island, IL
ALTO SAXOPHONE–Jonathan Piedmont, Delmar, NY
TRUMPET–Daniel Vaughn, Coralville
TUBA–Luke Foster, Burlington, IA

General David Petraeus will make a personal video appearance. Iowa Governor Chet Culver is expected to participate, along with a U.S. Senator, five generals and one admiral, as well as one flag officer form each branch of the service.

Admission is free and open to the public. Tickets (limit 8 per person) are available at all Whitey's restaurants, i Wireless Center, the Quad City Times, and all Hy-Vee grocery stores.
