Broadcast journalists won multiple honors May 1 at the Iowa Broadcast News Association annual awards ceremony. The awards were received for their work at St. Ambrose radio and television stations, KALA-FM and TV-11.
Steve Campbell '10, received a first place award for "Sports Play-By-Play" on KALA Radio, while Chris Steele '09 received first place for "Sports Play-By-Play" on TV-11 and a third place honor for "Sports Play-By-Play" on KALA Radio. Campbell received a third place honor for "Sports Play-By-Play" on TV-11.

This year is no different than in years' past when KALA and TV-1—and Steve Campbell—have taken home numerous awards.
KALA is a non-profit station owned and operated by St. Ambrose University and has been broadcasting since 1967. Using student and community disc jockeys, KALA features live music, news and sponsored events. Programming includes such formats as jazz, blues, urban contemporary, Hispanic/Spanish language programming and college rock. KALA can be heard at 88.5 or 105.5 FM in the Quad Cities.
TV-11 is the television outlet of the St. Ambrose University Communication Center, producing local shows and carrying cable programs with an education and fine arts focus. Ambrose programs include "TV-11 Dateline," a student-produced newscast for university events, and live SAU athletic games and pre-game shows. TV-11 can be found on the Quad Cities Mediacom cable system (Channel 11).
