With just less than a month left to rehearse, "Dark Play, or Stories for Boys" is well on its way under the direction of Andrew Benson '11!
As with any show, there are some rehearsal struggles. However, undoubtedly, all of the phenomenal successes are making the struggles seem minute. According to stage manager Sidney Junk '14, the cast is "getting to the point where they are trying to run through the show as frequently as possible." The cast should be off book soon, which, according to Junk, is "extremely exciting!"
One of the primary rehearsal struggles is space. Rehearsals have been being held in New Hall since the Studio is booked, but the cast is looking forward to being able to use the Studio Theatre more in the near future. Junk also says that "the lighting effects will be very striking and exciting, but they are quite the project to get working correctly!"
"Dark Play, or Stories for Boys" is about a teen's internet identity starting out as a harmless game but then evolving into a nightmare for himself and those around him as his virtual life becomes part of his reality. This show covers very important and prominent issues in today's society and should be very interesting for those who attend. The show is March 24, 25, and 26–be sure not to miss it!
